TVC Responsibilities:
My role centers on supporting, praying for, and actively ministering to the staff, lay leaders, volunteers, and students within our Students Ministry space.
When and how did the Lord save you?
I grew up falsely assuming that I was a Christian simply because my mother was a believer. While I knew a great deal of historical information about Jesus, I did not personally know Him as my Lord and Savior. God graciously made the reality of the gospel clear to me in the summer of 1999 after I read the Left Behind book series. Although I learned over time that those books are not entirely theologically sound, I am deeply grateful that the Lord used them to open my eyes to His genuine mercy and grace.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
Our family started attending TVC in 2008. We originally came to the church because our son, Hunter, wanted to attend the Students Ministry gatherings alongside his close friends. We fell in love with the community and began volunteering in the ministry during our second week of attendance.
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
My talk would be about the beauty of trusting the Lord and praying through extended periods of physical illness. I have personally battled health complications for many years, and I have learned that the sweetest seasons of spiritual intimacy often occur during our deepest suffering because it keeps us tightly tethered to Him.
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
During my early childhood, I desperately wanted to be a veterinarian, but as I grew older, my ultimate dream job became being a mom.
Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
I always thought it would be incredibly fun to be real-life friends with MacGyver, and then I practically ended up marrying him. My husband, Jeff, can fix almost anything.
Favorite Hobby:
My absolute favorite hobbies include hanging out with my family, playing board games, and planting flowers in the garden.
